Making a Submission

Gnommie welcomes a wide range of content from across the
Web and beyond. If you find an interesting article, video, image or other content online you can submit it to Gnommie in just a few clicks. Gnommie does not welcome content that violates our Community Guidelines or Terms of Use. Such content will be blocked and/or removed.

When you are logged in, to make a new submission either click the “Submit new” link that appears in the “Submissions” drop down menu of the Gnommie main navigation menu or just go directly to http://www.gnommie.com/site-submit-en.php. You will then be diverted to our easy to use submission form where you will be prompted to give us information about that submission.

STEP 1 – BASIC INFORMATION

FORMAT:   First, choose from one of five formats: Suggestion, Question, Poll, Discussion, and Review.

MEDIA:   Second, choose from one of four types: News, Videos, Images, and Non-Media.

LINK:   Finally, some combinations of formats and types of submissions will give you the option to choose between adding a URL link and uploading an image. To add a URL link, simply copy/paste the address of the page you're submitting. To upload an image, click the "Browse" button and select the image you want to use.

STEP 2 - DESCRIPTION

TITLE:   In most combinations, this will be prefilled with the title of the page you're saving. Feel free to edit this in any way that makes sense to you.

DESCRIPTION:   Here's where you can write some additional info in order to gain other people’s attention and interest towards your submission; or to let others know why you submitted it.

TOPIC:   Choose the topic you think relates to it more than any other and then in the next option assign as many tags to the submission as you like.

THUMBNAIL:   Choose the thumbnail that best represents your submission. Click “none” if you don’t want to include one.

TAGS:   Tags are one-word descriptions, a bit like keywords, that you can assign to your submission for easy of reference. They are optional, but we suggest using them, as they make your submission much easier to organize and navigate.

TIMESPAN:   Apply a “time span” of 24hrs, 3 days or 1 week to your submission if you want to alarm other users of the urgency to receive their opinion.

GHOST MODE:   Enabling this feature will not to display your submission in your profile. This will limit other users from tracking its activity from your profile, but not from the rest of the website.

REVIEW:   See a problem? Edit content/options to make corrections before you submit.

CAPTCHA:  Are you human? Know your ABCs? This is quick security check to make sure that you’re you (and not some evil robot).

A new submission will initially appear in “Upcoming” for users of the Gnommie community and the general public to discover. As it accumulates votes, it will rise to the top of “Upcoming”. Submissions at the top of “Upcoming” will “make the jump” to “Popular”, also referred to as Gnommie homepage, throughout the day.

There is no guarantee that your submission will be promoted to the “Popular”. Diversity is the key to getting a submission promoted to “popular”. Gnommie uses a sophisticated algorithm that takes into account the number of votes, views, shares, comments and several other factors to determine its relative ranking.
