I tried to make a submission but a warning appeared saying “We may already have your submission”. What does this mean?

Not to panic, this is merely one of many joys of the
Gnommie experience.

At Gnommie, we try to make sure there is only one format of each submission related to the exact originating URL link. This simply means that if a URL link has already been submitted to Gnommie in one format of submission, i.e. as a Suggestion, other users will not be able to submit it in the same format, but will be able to submit it in one of the remaining formats (i.e. Question, Poll, Discussion, Review).

If you’ve been warned that “we may already have the submission”, fear not and simply choose from the available “Related Content” formats to the right of the page to complete your submission in a different format.

Alternatively, if you choose not to make the submission in a different format, you can either cast your vote on the submission that already exists on Gnommie, or click on the “POTATOES POTATOS! Submit mine anyway...” button and make your submission in your originally intended format. However, we strongly discourage submitting duplicates as this steals credit from the first submitter and if caught abusively duplicating submissions, this could lead to your account being banned.
