Is there a way to cancel a friend request?

Unfortunately, there is no way to "take back" an invitation once it has been sent. If you would like to remove the contact from your network List, use Gnommie Search in the Gnommie main navigation bar to trace the user. Once the results appear, click the “Remove Friend” that appears next to the Contacts Name. Alternatively, visit either the user’s Profile page or your Network List in the “Network” Tab of your Profile, and click the “Remove Friend” that appears next to the Contacts Name.
